Born in South Africa, Jared Hendler has cultivated an accomplished and extensive career in branding, advertising, digital media & technology.


As Worldwide Executive Creative Director for Edelman Digital, Jared brings over 20 years of creative management experience forged from over a decade in the corporate world together with the nimble management skills acquired from having founded and managed 2 new media startups.


Specializing in digital engagement, Edelman helps their clients create a compelling and engaging digital presence by promoting their brands and business through digital media. Their expertise includes everything from building web sites to creating Facebook pages; e-kits, online media relations, online promotions and partnerships, email marketing and mobile campaigns. They protect and enhance their client’s reputations with online monitoring, digital advocacy, crisis sites and the proactive use of search as a reputational tool.  Clients are encouraged to participate in inspiring online conversation about their brands and businesses by and amongst influential stakeholders via blogs, social media and community engagement both in private and public social networks.  Clients include, Wallmart, Microsoft, HP, Starbucks, Samsung, Burger King, American Heart Association, Empire State Building, Unilever, Glaxo Smith Kline and the National Dairy Board.


Prior to joining Edelman, Jared was a founder of SmashTube, with a focus on digital media strategy along with the creation, production & distribution of Branded Entertainment and Original Programming for online, mobile video and social networks.


Prior to Smashtube, Jared founded MyAdGuys as an online tool to help the small business market create and plan professional marketing campaigns.  MyAdGuys was soon followed by the introduction of MarketingForce, a tightly integrated web platform enabling large brands to automate the customization and distribution of their communication materials into their local markets and channel partners. Their direct mail partner, Conclusive Marketing, acquired both the MarketingForce and MyAdGuys platforms in January of 2006.  Clients included American Express, Motorola, ERA, Century 21, Coldwell Banker, Auntie Anne’s Pretzels, Serta, AgFirst Bank, Assante, Dex Media & YouthAids.


Jared’s entrepreneurial spirit was grounded with 10 years of experience within the WPP family at Grey Advertising on global brands such as Domino’s Pizza, Mars, Red Lobster, Canon Cameras, Topps, Cendant, Kool Aid and Mitsubishi.


As the Executive Creative Director and cofounder of G2 at Grey (WPP) from 1992, Jared grew the group from 2 people to over 100+ in NY, while spearheading the development of over a dozen international offices around the WPP network including London, Helsinki, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, Paris, Moscow, Caracas, Santiago, Rio, Bogotá & Toronto. The client roster grew under his leadership to include: Sprint, Six Flags Theme Parks, Seagrams, Kohler, Krups, Canon Cameras, Panasonic, General Foods, Procter & Gamble, Dow Corning, Amerada Hess, Barilla Pasta, Dominos Pizza, M&M-Mars, Centrum Herbals, Glaxo Smithkline, Topps, Ernst & Young, US Mint, Olive Garden, British American Tobacco, Mitsubishi Motors, Autobytel.com, FTD, Cendant for Super 8 Motels, Ramada, Days Inn, Howard Johnson, Monsanto, New York Lottery, Port Authority of NY&NJ, Con Edison, U.S. Mint, Hasbro Toys for Star Wars.


Jared is the author of a forward-thinking blog covering new media subscribed to by over 1000 executive level decision makers in media, publishing & marketing.  He is a prior board member of the Art Director’s Club and is a Blue Ribbon Judge for the Emmy Award’s new broadband category.


Being active within the industry has provided Jared the opportunity to address his peers at industry events and conferences such as: Adtech, Digital Hollywood, Adage 2.0 and SAIC Digital Media Conference.


He is a graduate of the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, CA and resides as their East Coast Chapter Chair.
